- What is BMS?
A building management system is a computer based control and monitoring of installed electrical and mechanical equipment such is fire system, security system, various electrical and mechanical system like ventilation, air quality monitoring, lighting and power system.
BMS plays an important role in controlling energy consumption in a building. For example if smoke or heat is detected by fire alarm control system, then a signal will be sent to shut off dampers in ventilation system and simultaneously all lifts will be sent to ground floor level.
